CSS Secondary Pathways covers the Key Stage 4 Years 10 and 11, with the placement ceasing at the end of Year 11 on transition to post-16 education. Secondary Pathways is located at both CSS sites in Wickford and Langdon Hills and is overseen by CSS SENCo, Anya Jenkyn.

The Key Stage 4 induction timetable varies depending on students’ needs, allowing for a period of adjustment, after which students have access to a timetable within the school day which runs from 9.30am to 3.30pm.

Following the induction timetable, students are offered a personalised and needs-led timetable that is regularly reviewed and adapted as needed. Classes consist of small groups of students or may be one-to-one, where appropriate.

In addition to key subjects, Key Stage 4 students may also be offered a vocational element to their curriculum, from a variety of external providers.

Students undertake iGCSEs, GCSEs, BTECs, Entry Level and Levels 1 and 2 Functional Skills and vocational qualifications, as well as Prince’s Trust and the Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Awards.

In Key Stage 4, students receive careers guidance and help applying for apprenticeships, college and other further education and have access to Essex County Council’s Preparing for Adulthood Adviser.
